Martial Arts With Heart
The core of our art is rooted in compassion and respect for oneself, others, and the world as a whole. The 33rd Grandmaster of Ninjutsu, Toshitsugu Takamatsu, once said, “Ninpô is the way of attaining that which we need while making the world a better place.” The Ninja Kids Club is a great group of kids who follow this way of Ninpo. We train Martial Arts with Heart.
When starting the school, we asked, where is our heart? Here are our answers:
*Our heart is in teaching kids solid martial arts skills, improving their balance, coordination, endurance and control.*
*Our heart is in creating a close community of kids who support each others learning.*
*Our heart is in empowering kids to solve life’s challenges with confidence, perseverance, and compassion.*
Our mission is to be a grounded martial arts school, centered in these original values.
What Do We Do?
In our classes, we train Budo Taijutsu, a martial art comprised of nine schools from ancient Japanese Ninja and Samurai families. Though the Ninja lineage has in many ways been lost, their scrolls and much of their way of looking at the world is still carried on in our art. Our grandmaster is Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi . He lives and teaches in Noda City, Japan, and dances around the training hall like no other 80 year old man we’ve seen! We strive to stay connected with the values presented through his teachings, thus character development is a foundation of our program. We enrich our learning with Club House Saturdays once a month, as well as demonstrations where students have the option to prepare for and be part of a show to the public. We enrich our training community with monthly Service Events as well as occasional Parent’s Nights Out and Park Play Dates.
